TRAINING SESSION ON THE DOOR TO DOOR STRATEGY IN THE FIGHT AGAINST HIV/AIDS IN BUKAVU, SOUTH KIVU, RD CONGO

With its determination to equip students for the Door to Door campaign against HIV/AIDS among university students, IMCS-Pax Romana Africa coordination has organized another training session in Bukavu-DR Congo . For 5 days the trainers on diverse aspects on HIV/AIDS interviewed participants in a serene environment in the OLAME center in Bukavu.

Like for all other training sessions on HIV/AIDS, the Pan African  coordination of IMCS-Pax Romana, sent a preparatory questionnaire to help the potential participants of each section in doing an exploration on HIV/ AIDS in their countries ,their milieu of lives and in their  learning institutions .

This helped participants to prepare themselves for an active participation during the training sessions. Themes like: “Factors contributing to the spread of HIV/ AIDS in society “by Dr.Damien Dunia in charge of the HIV patients, “Impact of HIV/AIDS on socio-economic development” by Pascal Mabira, ADECOP coordinator, followed by the HIV testimony by Mr. Francis and Ms Passy; ”The panel debate” which saw the participation of the government, UNAIDS and the church; ”Responsibilities of the youth in the fight against HIV/ AIDS” by Mr. Fidele Shali of CODILUSI;   “Partnership in the fight against HIV /AIDS” by Dr.Kilimalima Nkwasi of PNMLS and by Mr. Albert Bushiri of Red Cross; contributed to reinforce the students’ knowledge on HIV/AIDS and their consciousness attitude in the fight.
